The local newspaper printed a strange announcement said that a murder would happened on Friday, the twenty-ninth day of October, in eighteen hours, thirty minutes into the little Peddoks, and everybody is invited. Little Peddoks – a small mansion, inhabited by elderly Miss Letitia Blacklock, her childhood friend Dora Banner, nephews Patrick and Julia Simmons-immigrant housekeeper Mitzi, and the young widow of Philip Hames. Some of villages suppose that announcement is Patrick’s joke , who is well-known lover of practical jokes, some people think that this is an smart invitation to the party. In the little Peddoks everyone also learn about this joke from the newspaper. Realizing that the party at the appointed time can not be avoided, the owners were prepared to accept them, although they are all very excited and a bit confused.
